You can live here and work here. It makes for a short commute.
Good parks make good neighbors – and very happy kids.
Connectivity
Stapleton is all about making it easy to get around … whether you’re headed to somewhere within the neighborhood or elsewhere in metro Denver.
It’s centrally located. Just a few blocks south of I-70 on Quebec, Stapleton is only 10 minutes from downtown Denver, 20 minutes from Denver International Airport (DIA) and 30 minutes from Colorado’s Rocky Mountains.
It’s transit-oriented. Stapleton shares regular bus routes with the rest of metro Denver. In fact, Stapleton has one of the more popular RTD bus stations in Denver. It’s a convenient connecting point for commuters heading into the city or for air travelers going to DIA. And in 2014, commuters will have another transit option: the light rail line from downtown Denver to Stapleton to DIA will be up and running – bringing the world just another step closer.
It’s pedestrian and pedal-estrian friendly. With Stapleton’s walkable community design, you can use your legs rather than your car to get to most everyday destinations. To shop, dine, play in the parks, see your friends, meet your neighbors, go to school and, if you happen to office here, even to go to work. And if your bike commute takes you elsewhere, you’ll appreciate knowing that Stapleton’s 36 miles of trails link to Denver’s 800 miles of designated bike routes.
But the idea isn’t just to get from point A to point B. In Stapleton, it’s about the journey, too. Sidewalks and trails are positioned away from traffic lanes and plenty wide. So you can comfortably walk hand-in-hand, leash-in-hand or both – and make room for your neighbors walking the other way. Whereas, neighborhood streets are narrow to slow traffic down and enhance the pedestrian experience. Garages are tucked away in alleys around back to make the neighborhood more about front porches than garage doors. Prettier to look at, and more enjoyable to walk along.
The obvious benefit of walking, biking, scootering, skating, and jogging is better health — burning calories instead of fossil fuels. Which also leads to a healthier environment, with fewer carbon emissions. But when a walk leads you to a concert on the green, a farmers market or even a block party, the benefits multiply. That’s why Stapleton hosts over 60 events each year, ranging from movies under the stars to a community-wide garage sale.
So you’ll always have a good reason to get outside, get going and get connected to the world around you.
